About Open Campus
Open Campus is a decentralized education protocol that builds an on-chain education network. Its core business includes: 1) EDU Chain, a Layer 3 blockchain built on Arbitrum Orbit specifically for education applications and on-chain education finance (EduFi); 2) TinyTap, a no-code platform where educators can create interactive courses and mint them as Publisher NFTs to tokenize content ownership and share revenue; 3) Open Campus ID, a decentralized identity system that issues tamper-proof, verifiable academic credentials.
The main market pain points it addresses: traditional education suffers from diploma fraud and difficult credential verification; content creators are undervalued with platforms taking most revenue; students in emerging markets face high barriers to education loans. Open Campus solves these through blockchain-based verifiable credentials, smart contract-enabled automatic revenue sharing, and on-chain student loan platforms like Pencil Finance.
In the past six months (March to September 2026), the most significant development was the January 2026 MoU with the government of Madhya Pradesh, India, and Geeks of Gurukul to digitize up to 50 million student and graduate academic records over 18 months, using EDU Chain infrastructure for secure credential verification. EDU Chain mainnet launched in January 2025 with US$150 million TVL, becoming the largest Layer 3 blockchain at the time. By Q2 2025, it processed 2.9 million transactions with 26,000 deployed contracts. No major negative events were reported in the past two years.
Open Campus completed a $5 million strategic funding round with participation from Animoca Brands.
It established a $10 million fund managed by KIP Protocol for DeAI + Education, approved via DAO vote, and secured Arbitrum Foundation support while allocating $10 million from its ecosystem fund to acquire verification nodes.
